OFW Talks with The Infamous One Jay Moore

One Fall Wrestling has interviewed Courtney Rush. One Fall Wrestling has interviewed Anthony Darko.
Now we speak with the man behind some of the best talent this country has to offer, Infamous Jay Moore.

OFW – What got you into pro wrestling? Were you a fan or was it something else?

IJM – Well, I watched wrestling from a real early age and was always a big fan. I came across my first “Indy” show, which was old Fighting Spirit Pro Wrestling, which was run by boxing promoter Ron Gallon. Later FSPW was taken over by NEO Wrestling, at the time Neo was the best promotion in the province. I rarely missed a NEO show. I was a fan of NEO for years. At one point a couple of guys had left NEO to form New Vision Pro Wrestling. I was able to break into the buisness at that time. I initially started doing ring crew and whatnot and moved into promoting and booking those shows. Good times, great crew I had to work with, pretty memorable.

OFW – You also do a wrestling show/podcast on Driscoradio.com. Can you tell us a little about that?

IJM – Well first off its Driscoradio.ca, and it’s not a wrestling podcast at all. But I will tell you about it. It’s called The Infamous Jay Moore Show, heard Saturdays and Sundays at 9pm on www.driscoradio.ca. It’s the highest rated radio show on Driscoradio right now and although I do talk about wrestling, I only really talk about what’s interesting to me. I sit down with my co-host Zakkamania and we have had discussions about what’s going on at Neo, what may be happening over at TCW, we may occasionally talk about other promotions here and there but really it’s not necessarily a wrestling style podcast. There’s a lot of other elements and different guests that come on there. I’m really happy with the success of the show. We seem to have tapped into something that everybody is enjoying. Tune in for yourself, it’s a lot of fun. Saturdays and Sundays at 9pm.

OFW – You began working for TCW as a colour commentator but before long you were quite vocal against the company and it’s owner Duncan Marshall. What made you leave the announce position and become physically involved in matches?

IJM – I never wanted to leave the broadcast position at TCW. I really enjoyed doing colour commentary alongside Topher Whiteman. One of the things I noticed while doing commentary is just how much the company and Duncan Marshall were out to screw Anthony Darko, Now at the time I did’nt know much about Darko but I quickly became a fan of his work. I think Darko’s great but every time he would get to a certain level at TCW, Duncan Marshall and his promotion would slap Anthony Darko down, They screwed him out of title tournaments, they put him in a loser leaves town, they made him compete twice on shows, it was ridiculous. And all this was happening because the office over there does not like Darko, they favour guys like Scotty OShea, they favour people like Cherry Bomb, Shawn Spears, people like that.

I worked for a lot of shady promoters before. I also know when its time to put a stop to crap like this so Darko and I paired up and the rest is history. He’s now the TCW Heavyweight Champion and I’m the greatest manager of all time, we know what it’s like to be successful. I can work with Darko day in and day out. It meant I had to step down from commentary yes, but hey, things happen for a reason.

OFW – You are now managing TCW Heavyweight Champion Anthony Darko and “The Suplex Machine” Courtney Rush, 2 very impressive talents. Is there anyone else you plan to manage?

IJM – I’ve been managing wrestlers for years, never in my career have I ever had it better than I do now, whether it’s at TCW or NEO, I have it made. But on the TCW side of things, I love working with the champ, I feel like we haven’t even really begun yet, there’s so much more to offer. But hey, god bless Anthony Darko. I’ve wanted to manage Courtney Rush for years, thats a pretty big deal to me. TCW is lucky to have her and fortunately for TCW, Courtney will be the next ladies champion over there. Duncan Marshall should be on his knees kissing her feet. I’m happy doing what im doing, I think im among the best in the buisness and I ll tell you the truth, I’m not really interested in managing anybody else. I’m so happy with Rush and Darko right now, I don’t know if I would entertain the idea of adding to the roster……….Although the thought of managing the Pissbeaters kinda works for me too. Anything can happen in 2012, now’s the time to keep your eye on Tri City Wrestling.

OFW – Some people have been saying that you are out of control. How do you respond to those people?

IJM – I don’t know. There’s only one Infamous Jay Moore. whether you like what I do, or you don’t really doesn’t matter to me. I was hated and people said I was out of control when I brought New vision over to RWI and took over there. I was hated and out of control when I was at TWA. Same thing is happening here at TCW, but say what you want about me, fact is I’m totally in control. I did exactly what I said I would do. I’m managing the TCW Heavyweight Champion and I’m managing the best woman’s wrestler in the country right now. That sound’s pretty in control to me. I was great on commentary, they can’t complain there, and I’ve made the company better, much like I have everywhere I’ve gone. That’s not out of control or not knowing what I’m doing. In fact it’s totally absurd that you would ask me a question like that.

OFW – You have quite a history with indy promotions. Is your ultimate goal to control the gold in every promotion?

IJM – No, my goals are to keep doing good business with Anthony Darko, I want the TCW Woman’s title off Cherry Bomb and held by Courtney Rush. I want Andrew Davis to be the next NEO Wrestling heavyweight champion, and we’re gonna throw some gold on the Bearded Dragon Scotty Turner too. That’s what I’m looking forward to this year, not interested in working for other promotions. I’m proud to be at NEO, I’m happy to be at TCW. I’m not interested in managing a bunch of people, I like the army I have assembled now, all of which are hungry, all of which are aggressive. I think I have the best crew in the business and 2012 is going to be a big year for all of us, that’s my goals right now.

OFW – What do you see The Infamous One accomplishing in NSPW and PWAN?

IJM – Well right now PWAN is kinda on the shelf. I don’t know where that promotion stands right now but I’ve already proven everything I have to prove over there, I’ve already managed the champ. I retired finally Pistol Pete, I’m sorta past all that and focused on what I’m doing now. Over at NEO it’s been great for me too. I manage Andrew Davis over there as well as Scotty Turner. NEO is an intense wrestling promotion and only the best in the business work there. Uou don’t just walk in off the streets and catch a spot at NEO, you’d better be ready. Andrew Davis has been a top guy in the sport for years, sometimes overlooked. But You can put Andy in there with anybody and you’re going to have a 5 star match every time. Andrew Davis will win the NEO Wrestling Championship, there’s no doubt in my mind about that. I dont care who the champ is at the time, whether it’s Primo, could be Shawn Spears, Could be Pepper Parks, Deaner, Wylde, whatever. Andrew Davis’s time will come and he will be respected as one of the best champions that promotion has ever had. Bearded Dragon Scotty Turner I’ve watched since the beginning of his career. He was great from day one, I think Turner is everything NEO stands for. He’s young, he’s aggressive and he’s ready to go at any given moment, Turner is going to be a light heavyweight champion over there. Turner is the kinda guy that will rip apart a guy like Nick Vickers, beat the hell out of a guy like Scotty O’Shea, Johnny Wave, Brent Banks, it doesn’t matter, pound for pound they don’t come any better then Scotty Turner. NEO Wrestling is going to shake things up and put wrestling back where it needs to be in 2012. I can promise you that.

OFW – What does 2012 hold for Jay Moore and his Infamous faction?

IJM – Listen man, I can promise you this for 2012. The Infamous faction, as you like to call it, is a combination of the finest talent in the area. I can sit here and set goals for you, I can sit here and put them over but I’m not going to do that. I’ve already told you what my goals are and what I want to do. But what I will say is this crew that I’m working with right now, between NEO and TCW, Andrew Davis, The Bearded Dragon Scotty Turner, Courtney Rush and of course TCW Heavyweight Champion Anthony Darko, are hungry, they’re intense, it’s balls to the wall when you’re in the ring with these people and they are not kidding around. It’s all business to them. Myself, I think I’ve been around long enough and cemented myself as a legendary wrestling manager, I really dont see anything but success for all of us, it’s not going to be pretty. We’re all going to do some damage along the way but I will say Infamous Jay Moore and his Infamous faction or the Moore family if you will, will be worth every penny you spend on a ticket to watch us. NEO or TCW, it doesnt matter, we re gonna deliver. There will be surprises and you will be on the edge of your seat. Never forget that.

Catch Infamous Jay Moore’s show on Dricoradio.ca Saturday and Sunday nights at 9pm.
